Stated Annual Meeting 23rd February
On Wednesday evening, 23rd February, the Stated Annual Meeting of the Congregation was held to reflect upon and receive the annual accounts for 2021. The trustees had previously approved the accounts at the Management Committee meeting on 17th February. Continue reading
POSTPONEMENT OF REOPENING
After a bit of discussion this morning, ( Saturday 9th January), the Kirk Session now think it would be unwise to go ahead and reopen the church next Sunday. Given how the national picture is looking just now, we feel it might be right for us to wait a while until the situation caused by the alarming surge in the new variant cases improves. The announcement last week by the Scottish Government that church buildings could now open, with certain conditions, was a welcome indication of continued improvement in the situation relating to Covid-19 in Scotland. Hitherto Hath the Lord helped us..
Today is the last Sunday that Wilf and Pat Urquhart are going to be with us. As a congregation we have been blessed by their ministry in many different ways over the past few weeks, and they leave us with many good memories. During the summer months the congregation has been well served by the pulpit ministry and faithful pastoral endeavours of two exemplary ministry couples, the Rev Donald Angus and Mrs Rachel Maclennan and Mr Wilf and Mrs Pat Urquhart. We thank them warmly for all that they have done whilst with us here in Tarbert, and we pray that being in Harris during the summer will have been a blessing to themselves as well. Continue reading
