Worship – Services
Our worship of God is central to what we do as a church family. We meet together twice each Sunday to worship God in Praise, Prayer and the Preaching of the Word.
Sunday: Morning Service – English – 11am
Sunday: Evening Service – Alternately English/Gaelic – 6pm
Wednesday: Prayer Meeting – Bilingual – 7:30pm
The two Praise books we use on a regular basis are CH3 Church Hymnary: Third Edition and Mission Praise Complete 2005 Edition.
We also use SongPro and HymnQuest software to display the readings and praise on various screens throughout the Church.
After the morning service there is tea and coffee served in the church hall ( The Macrae Centre), and it is a good opportunity to catch up with others, and meet new people.
Prayer
Prayer is simply speaking to God. The Bible tells us to pray at all times and about everything. We meet for Prayer as a congregation on Wednesday Evenings from 7:30pm in the Church Hall.
This is an opportunity for us to gather together, to Pray for God’s work among us in Tarbert and in Harris as well as throughout the country and the world.
Sunday School
We have a Sunday School for Children aged 5-15 which meets every Sunday during the morning service. After a brief children’s address at the beginning of our service the Sunday School go through to the Church Hall to their classes. There are three separate classes in the Sunday School using age appropriate lessons from the GoTeach curriculum. We are always happy to welcome any new and visiting children to come along.
Creche
There is also a crèche facility available for any pre-school (0-5) children.
During the week there are various other activities and meetings taking place in the church including Praise group practice, Youth Club on Friday nights, and at times various Youth and other courses run at weekends.
