The Church of Scotland’s COVID-19 Task Group published the latest guidance based on Scottish Government regulations on Friday, 10th September. The limits on church capacity and distancing have now been removed. However, the Task Group are still advising congregations to stick to one metre distancing at the moment.
At our Management Committee meeting last night, we decided that we will continue to have one-metre social distancing in our church at present.
The wearing of masks, even when singing, is still mandatory, and we continue to ask people for contact details on entering the church. Although we acknowledge that it is difficult, we are strongly encouraged to avoid handshakes at the church. Due to the restrictions on hospitality, we will not offer after-church tea and coffee for the foreseeable future.
That said, we are very thankful to God that restrictions have eased sufficiently to allow a good number to return to church, and the Kirk Session and Management Committee have been encouraged to see a good number returning to our in-person services, and well as a good number who still join the Livestream of the services.
We want to thank you very much indeed for all of your help, support and patience during this difficult time.
